My year in Tokyo has come to an end, sadly, and I will no longer be updating this site.

The good news, however, is that I have been having many more Japan adventures over the years through working at a ski resort in Hokkaido, being a CIR on the JET Programme in Kochi, and working as an exchange co-ordinator at a university in Kobe. I’ve also been travelling to other parts of the world too, including living in Argentina for 6 months to study Spanish.

Please feel free to peruse this site if you want information about the monbukagakusho scholarship or about love hotels.

Otherwise, please follow me to my new travel journal where I am currently having all number of exciting adventures. I will be continuing my English love hotel guide over there as well when I get time.

Thanks for reading my site over the past year, and I’ll see you on the other side! So long, Tokyo, and thanks for all the fish.

Signing out,

Kav P.

Here’s a video of the Sumida Fireworks Festival to make up for my tardiness. (more…)

Fire?

Well, that was an interesting experience. (more…)

Today is Engrish Wednesday, wherein a relic of a choice odd concept or design is put on display. Not always Engrish, but always something that stood out to me as amusingly different from what I’m used to seeing. Who knows, maybe it’ll amuse/bemuse you too.

I only wish I’d gotten my camera out quickly enough to capture the guy inspecting them. I’m still not sure why I have so much Engrish from the men’s underwear section. Bit unnerving, really: (more…)

Just a quick note to let you know that lately I’ve been working on pages for the ‘Love Hotel Guide‘ I’m planning on producing. This includes a guide to Internet sites on the subject in both English and Japanese, with English instructions for how to use the Japanese sites if possible. It also means that I’ve started to write up some of the review notes I’ve written about the hotels I’ve stayed in over time to date. Check out what I’ve got so far if you’re interested!

Wow, I am exhausted from my climb up and down Mt. Fuji yesterday and today, but that’s another article. I am so in bed now.

I don’t know about you, but almost everything about this picture seems a bit rude for me. (more…)
